Leadership Development

Levels 7 & 8 - Strategic Leadership

Strategic leadership refers to the ability of an individual or a group to effectively steer an organisation towards its long-term goals and objectives by formulating and implementing strategic plans. It involves a combination of vision, foresight, decision-making skills, and the capacity to inspire and motivate others. Strategic leaders possess a deep understanding of the organisation's internal and external environment, enabling them to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and adapt to changing circumstances. They set the direction for the organisation, establish priorities, allocate resources, and align the efforts of individuals and teams towards achieving the desired outcomes. Strategic leadership encompasses the ability to think critically, analyse complex situations, make tough choices, and communicate a compelling vision to rally others towards a shared purpose. Ultimately, strategic leaders play a crucial role in shaping the long-term success and sustainability of an organization.

Absolutely, we believe the most flexible in the industry...

You can choose from:

  • Booking individual courses, as and when you choose and accumulating CPD and 'GL' credits as you go.
  • Booking a "Qualification Pathway" programme, benefitting from a wider range of training, not to mention a 15% discount.
  • Adding on an optional professional qualification.
  • Note: additional discount is available if a qualification is booked at the time of booking a "Qualification Pathway" programme.

Unique to Chapel House 'GL' credits are...

Our system of ensuring that when you select optional units within a "Qualification Pathway" programme,  you meet the required Guided Learning Hours (GLH), should you wish to undertake the associated qualification, without you needing to do the math.

Of course you can undertake any specific course you wish, without concerning yourself with this term, but if you are going to undertake a programme, potentially leading to a professional qualification, then 'GL' Credits matter and ensure clarity.

We have a full explanation of GLH below.

The term Guided Learning Hours (GLH)...

Refers to the total number of hours that a learner spends under the direct guidance and supervision of a teacher, trainer, or educational institution during a specific course or learning program. GLH takes into account both the time spent in face-to-face instruction and other forms of structured learning, such as tutorials, workshops, and practical sessions. These hours are intended to provide learners with structured guidance, support, and opportunities for interaction, enabling them to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding outlined in the curriculum. Guided Learning Hours serve as a measure of the amount of directed learning time required for a learner to achieve the desired learning outcomes and are often used to determine the credit value or level of a qualification.

In a word, No....

All Chapel house courses are CPD acredited, so as a minimum, you will receive not only the highest quality training, but also CPD standards office recogntion.

In addition, you may wish to consider the benefits of opting for a full professional qualification...

CMI qualifications set out a journey of progression, delivering professional learning that equips learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence to take their management career further. The qualifications are developed by subject matter experts, so you can have the confidence that you are gaining up to date and relevant skills desired by employers.

Qualification Pathway Programmes are the route to your personal success...

It is common in the industry, to run a fixed subject directors development programme over a number of days, with an optional qualification to be undertaken at the end.

Chapel House have recognised that at the strategic level, one size doesn't fit all...

We also understand that your time is precious and that we are here to fit your needs, not simply shoehorn you into a generic programme.

As an industry leader, we have taken a unique approach and have developed a series of short courses, each focusing on a specific area of expertise, allowing participants to enhance their skills and knowledge in targeted domains.

Each course is fully independent, meaning participants can select and complete individual courses based solely on their specific role, needs and interests. For example, if all you need to do, is to polish up your understanding of the balance sheet, then you only need the "Finance for Non-Financial Directors" course

For those seeking a more comprehensive learning experience, our courses may be combined into a cohesive program, enabling participants to gain a well-rounded understanding of strategic leadership principles and practices. This is where "Pathway programmes" provide a clear route to matching your requirements with a qualification.

Programmes:

  • A - Provides a choice of courses to earn either 3 or 4 'GL' Credits which link to an optional CMI Level 7 Award
  • B - Provides a choice of courses to earn 5 'GL' Credits which link to an optional CMI Level 7 Certificate
  • C - Provides a choice of courses to earn 6 'GL' Credits which link to an optional CMI Level 7 Diploma
  • D - Provides a choice of courses to earn 7 'GL' Credits which link to an optional CMI Level 8 Certificate

Chapel House have been coaching sucessful business leaders for the past 15 years...

Not only that, we actually train and assess coaches and provide coach supervison. In an unregulated industry, we bring accountability, standards & integrity.

Coaching can be highly valuable when undertaking strategic leadership training for several reasons:

  • Feedback and self-awareness: A coach can provide objective feedback and help you develop self-awareness about your leadership style, decision-making processes, and communication patterns. This awareness is crucial for strategic leaders as it allows them to understand how their actions and behaviours impact others and the organisation.
  • Individualised support: Coaching provides personalised attention tailored to the specific needs and goals of the individual engaged in a personal development journey. A strategic leadership coach can assist you to assess your strengths and areas for development, working with you to create a customised plan to enhance your strategic leadership skills.
  • Accountability and motivation: Coaching helps in establishing accountability for your development. A coach can help you set specific goals, track progress, and hold you accountable for implementing new strategies and behaviors. They can also provide motivation and support during challenging times, ensuring that you stay focused and committed to your growth.
  • Skill development and knowledge transfer: Strategic leadership training often involves learning new skills and acquiring knowledge about effective leadership practices. Coaching can facilitate your exploration of the new learning as you develop your leadership style and approach and decide which of the learnt tools and techniques can be best applied in your real-world situation.
  • Overcoming challenges and obstacles: As you navigate strategic leadership roles, you may encounter various challenges and obstacles. A coach can help you identify and address these challenges by providing insights, alternative perspectives, and strategies for problem-solving. They can also assist you in developing resilience and adaptability, which are essential qualities for strategic leaders.
  • Support in decision-making: Strategic leadership involves making complex decisions with long-term implications. A coach can act as a sounding board, helping you analyse situations, consider different perspectives, and weigh potential risks and benefits. This support can enhance your decision-making abilities and increase your confidence in leading strategic initiatives.

In summary, coaching complements strategic leadership training by providing individualised guidance, feedback, accountability, and support. It helps leaders develop self-awareness, acquire new skills, overcome challenges, and make informed decisions, ultimately enhancing their effectiveness as strategic leaders.
