Our Professional Consulting programmes have been designed for individuals wishing to develop their professional consulting abilities and are design to give learners the knowledge, skills and abilities to deliver consultancy activity in their own or a client organisation. 

Our Professional Consultancy training is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is available to learners at Level 5 and Level 7.

Diversity

Level 5: Professional Consulting


The Level 5 qualification is available as an Award, Certificate or Diploma and is aimed at practising or aspiring consultants who want to develop their strategic skills in the consultancy arena.

The qualification was developed by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in cooperation with the Charted Institute of Consulting in order to ensure the content is practical, developmental and client focused.

In addition to building an effective foundation in coaching and mentoring skills we will also explore the complexity of operating as a coach or mentor in an organisational setting. 

The available study units for achievement of the Level 5 qualification include:

  • Introduction to Consulting Essentials (A,C,D)
  • Planning and Managing Consultancy Interventions (A,C,D)
  • The Client Relationship (A,C,D)
  • Communication for Consultants (A,C,D)
  • Problem Solving Tools and Techniques for Consultants (A,C,D)
  • The Role and Responsibilities of a Consultant (C,D)
  • Project Development and Control (D)
  • Coaching Practice and Theory (D)
  • Management of Action Learning (D)
  • Planning the Change Process (D)

*A,C,D – denotes the qualification level each unit is available at (Award, Certificate & Diploma)

Level 7: Professional Consulting


The Level 7 qualification is available as an Award, Certificate, Diploma and Extended Diploma and is aimed at practising or aspiring senior management consultants seeking to develop existing knowledge and skills and anchor their experience to a formal qualification

Developed by the CMI in partnership with the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) and is designed to provide a progression route to Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC)

There are a range of units available to learners including:

  • Practice of Professional Consulting
  • Leading Innovation and Change through Professional Consulting
  • Personal and Professional Development for Professional Consultants
  • Professional Consulting Expertise

In addition to tutor support all learners on our Level 7 programme are able to access coaching support from one of our experienced and accredited business coaches.
